The Generation GapWhat our critics say

A Dreamcast and later PS2 classic, this JRPG often gets overlooked despite its innovative combat system, a fluid blend of real-time and turn-based elements. Its narrative, which explores themes of faith, doubt, and redemption with a surprising depth, paired with a memorable cast, truly set it apart. It was a well-crafted journey that deserved far more recognition for its thoughtful execution and engaging mechanics.

For real, the Dreamcast had some JRPG heat, and Grandia II from 2000 was absolute fire. It's got an epic story about good versus evil, a memorable cast of characters, and a battle system that was ahead of its time. The tactical turn-based combat was so engaging, requiring smart positioning and timing. It felt grand, cinematic, and emotional. If your streamer played this, they knew what was up with classic JRPGs before everyone was just talking about Final Fantasy. Respect the OG.

The characters were charming, their journey compelling. And the story unfolded with grand, impactful scope. It offered a refreshing, strategic take on turn-based combat. This was more than just another JRPG; it was an experience.
